Choreography Crush: Sergei Polunin 'Take Me To Church'

This week’s choreography crush was produced by the renowned director David LaChapelle and went viral in early 2015. Unless you're familiar with the who’s who in the ballet world, the message being delivered here might not be so obvious.

Famed Ukrainian ballet dancer Sergei Polunin is spotlighted in this video, and those that have followed his career are familiar with his very public battle with identity and professional belonging. Having started professional ballet training at the young age of 13, Polunin is gifted with a natural ability rarely ever seen in the art form. Despite his innate talents, he struggles with his place in the world, and that struggle is so beautifully depicted here in this piece.
