Manhattan Dance Championships

Whether you are an audience member or a world-renowned professional, this is the place to be this month if you love dance! With the championships constantly expanding over the years, it is not surprising that two new events -- a Junior Showcase and a Senior 65 and Over Division -- were added to further increase the competition's reach this year.

Prizes at the championships total a staggering $120,000 with a judging panel comprised of professionals from all over the USA and abroad. Attendees also have the opportunity to attend free lectures provided by the DC Education Department. Klaus Klongsdale, an acclaimed dancer, choreographer, teacher, and judge, is traveling all the way from Denmark to deliver lecture sessions, giving the opportunity for everyone to take a little something home, whether that be awards or education.

The championships are much more than a competition, offering a great social platform to meet like-minded dancers with shared interests. You never know who you might bump into at the Manhattan Dance Championships!

This five-day extravaganza is a whirlwind of energy and dance, full of enthusiasm and passion from rising stars to some of the best ballroom dancers in the country -- if not the world.

You would be crazy to miss it! However, if you cannot attend, do not worry. The competition is streaming LIVE on FloDance!
