Juniata falls to Wittenberg, ending their historic 103-game, near three year long winning streak. With Juniata slipping to No. 4, Wisconsin-Whitewater takes their old place at the top. 

Four days from the three year anniversary of their winning streak start (Sept. 16, 2022), the Eagles met their first loss against the Wittenberg Eagles in a 2-3 game. 

Wittenberg sports a 5-4 season record and remains unranked on the NCAA DIII coached poll, though has received votes. Juniata took the first set 25-23, but after four sets the game sat at a tie. Everything came down to the fifth and final set and Juniata couldn’t stave the Tigers off.

Though the win did not put Wittenberg on the rankings board, the Tigers slowly even out their win-to-loss ratio and sport a four game winning streak. Juniata, on the other hand, gained 77 of the first-place votes last week, which has dropped to two first-place votes in week three. 

Wisconsin-Whitewater swoops in to nab those votes with 69 in this week’s poll. Their undefeated season (10-0) and recent wins against Marian, Lakeland and St. Catherine placed them at the top.

East Texas Baptist has moved up the ranks to No. 5 from tenth. The team started preseason at No. 14, but their 12-0 season record and consistency throughout the beginning of the season has boosted their steady climb.
