Must-Watch CAA Volleyball This Week: Charleston and Towson Face-Off
Charleston and Towson meet in the CAA season opening weekend. Charleston seeks to extend its winning streak, while Towson looks to continue its 9-game run.
This weekend kicks off CAA play, and the Charleston vs. Towson game might just be the highlight. On Sept. 20, these two top teams will face off in Towson, Md., to set the tone for conference season.

College of Charleston volleyball has had quite the come-up over the past few weeks. After two tournaments with a two-to-one loss-to-win ratio, Charleston turned things around against The Citadel, reaching a program-high 14 aces in one match and starting a four-game winning streak.
Following their success against The Citadel, Charleston won the Steve Baumrind Invitational the next weekend. Their upward trend has bumped them from No. 8 in week two to No. 4 in the CAA standings for week three. Now Charleston’s improvement will be put to the true test in their match against Towson.

Towson hasn’t lost a game since week one. After early losses against West Virginia and Fairfield, Towson began a win streak that has stretched to nine games. Their latest triumphs came in their own Towson-Coppin State Invitational against Penn, Lafayette, Princeton and Iona.
A win in the CAA season-opening weekend would be a major confidence booster for either team. For Charleston, it would show they can keep up with the most successful CAA teams and possibly earn a place in the top three.
For Towson, it would affirm their strength in the CAA and continue their winning streak.
