Adelphi climbs to No. 1 in the NE10 women’s soccer standings, as Franklin Pierce stays close, Saint Michael’s breaks into the top three, Assumption slides.

Adelphi has risen to the top in week three of the NE10 standings, surpassing early-season standout Franklin Pierce.

The Panthers are riding a three-game winning streak (3-1 overall). This week began with a dominant 6-1 win over Holy Family University. 

Adelphi then opened NE10 play against Southern Connecticut State with a 3-1 victory. Despite Southern Connecticut controlling possession for the first fifteen minutes, Adelphi’s defense held firm. 

Kayleigh Goodrich netted the first goal in the 44th minute, and by the 60th, the Panthers led 3-0. Southern Connecticut added a late goal, but Adelphi sealed the win.

Saint Michael’s and Franklin Pierce remain the only two undefeated teams in the conference. Franklin Pierce holds steady at No. 2, while Saint Michael’s climbed into the NE10 top three for the first time this season.

In Saint Michael’s latest win, freshman Regan Kelso scored the decisive goal in the 62nd minute. With first-year Chloe Laizer leading the team in scoring, the Purple Knights’ young talent is already making a major impact.

Assumption fell from the top to No. 4 after back-to-back ties against the University of Bridgeport and Bentley University. The Greyhounds will look to bounce back in week three with another win to climb the standings again.
